Group Home- Staff Supervisor

$750 Sign On Bonus

Location: Richmond,VA


Education/Experience: Bachelors degree plus 2 or more years of full time experience in human service field at least 1 of which is in a children's residential facility; High school diploma plus 5 or more years experience in the human service field with at least 2 of which in a children's residential facility

SUMMARY: Supervise direct care staff, including performance evaluations, scheduling, and disciplinary issues. Perform and supervise the delivery of Resident care under the direction of the Program Manager. Serve as a positive role model for Residents to observe and learn socially effective values, attitudes and behaviors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Schedule direct care staff for program coverage while maintaining staffing expectations (regular and overtime hours within budgetary guidelines).
  • Shall familiarize ones self with Intercept Youth Services' policies and procedures and be able to address staff related concerns in an informal manner.
  • Complete employee performance evaluations for all direct reports.
  • Provide direction, encouragement, and training to direct care staff in the performance of their duties.
  • Work evening and weekend shifts as required by the position
  • Take lead role and full responsibility for overall program day-to-day function and participation of residents, making adjustments as needed to maintain safe, healthy environment
  • Ensure timely and effective communication of pertinent Resident care information among all staff (i.e. debriefing, staff log, weekend review).
  • Coordinate Resident medical care as needed, and notify the Program Manager and Clinician of Resident medical complaints.
  • Participate and collaborate in Treatment Team meetings reporting on milieu and resident treatment needs, goals and progress.
  • Assist in the admission and discharge of Residents.
  • Generate incident reports when appropriate, and ensure timely, accurate completion by staff.
  • Communicates with referral sources and planning agencies in absence of Program Manager or Clinician, with professionalism in all interactions.
  • Purchase food according to prepared menu, and ensure that food and cleaning supplies are kept in adequate supply without over stocking.
  • Record accurate and complete information in Resident record; ensure daily notes reflect coordination with progress towards treatment plan goals.
