Summary:They will be responsible for developing, with each resident, an individualized life skills and vocational plan to be implemented during the residents stay, to include: The Work Activities Matcher and/or Career Priorities Profile Second Edition, Ansell Casey Life Skills Assessment, and Barriers to Employment Success Inventory.

Requirements: Must be a registered Qualified Mental Health Professional Child (QMHP-C) as defined by the Department of Behavioral Health and Disability Services (DBHDS) with the Virginia Board of Counseling, and have at one year of experience providing direct care to youth diagnosed with a mental health disability.

Essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate services to minimize fragmentation of care, reduce barriers, and link children with appropriate services to ensure needs are met.
  • Conduct youth assessments
  • Preparatory counseling with youth and families for placement, discharge, or both.
  • Preparing and maintaining case records.
  • Promote the involvement of staff, caregivers, and other community support persons in planning services.
  • Track and report regularly on progress of residents' goals and submit reports to appropriate parties.
  • Serve as a clinical liaison to referral sources and family regarding resident progress and needs.
  • Take part in weekly multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings.
  • Maintain therapeutic relationships with appropriate boundaries and interventions.
  • Administer first aid to youth in response to minor medical problems.
  • Guide youth in personal hygiene techniques and proper care of their residences.
  • Report any property damage or maintenance concerns to the Program Supervisor.
  • Regular discussions of residents' issues, progress with social workers and probation officers.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of residents as directed by Program Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Valid driving record, safe automobile, current and sufficient auto insurance. Successful completion of a background screening. Current PPD results or screening.
