Intercept Youth Services is now hiring a part time Therapeutic Day Treatment Clinical Supervisor for the Buena Vista area.  These counselors work inside the school system and maintain a caseload of 4-6 clients.  Our counselors work school hours year long and are given partial cell-phone reimbursement.  They are responsible for addressing the day to day concerns, issues and needs of their school/work site and the clients therein. 

Summary:       The Clinical Supervisor will conduct assessments, determine client mental health diagnosis, develop Individualized Service Plans, coordinate referrals for client and family for additional services, complete service request authorizations, provide monthly clinical supervision to counselors and counseling services to clients.

 Education:        Master's in social work, counseling, or a qualified human behavioral science degree.  Must be licensed by Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Health Professions or a Resident in Counseling/Supervisee of Social Work eligible upon hire.

 Experience:         Must have at least one year clinical experience providing direct services to children, adolescents and/or adults with a mental health diagnosis. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid driving record, safe automobile driving record, current and sufficient auto insurance. Successful completion of background check. PPD test or screening. Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) and Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) that can provide clinical supervision must be able to supervise up to two employees towards their license.

 Essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

 Perform clients' assessments and annual reassessments.

  • Develop preliminary individualized service plans (ISP) based on assessment.
  • Diagnose clients utilizing the most current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
  • Conduct counseling and treatment interventions for clients.
  • Develop a therapeutic relationship with clients that will encourage response to treatment interventions.
  • Maintain high quality documentation of all case work, completed in a timely manner and consistent with outlined program policies and licensure requirements.
  • Interact with all clients in accordance with the ISP and the therapeutic process.
  • Coordinate closely with other staff and community service providers through case management to ensure the appropriateness of treatment modalities and services being provided.
  • Notify Supervisor of any significant client medical complaint(s), unusual events, accidents, medical problems, property damage or maintenance concern, etc.
  • Assess, evaluate and monitor the safety of the client and others at all times.
  • Initiate and facilitate verbal de-escalation techniques and strategies to assist the client in maintaining self-control
  • Exercise appropriate intervention in accordance with the least restrictive alternative to protect client from harming self or others.
  • Provide clinical supervision to counselors to ensure implementation of clinical interventions in accordance with ISP.
  • Serve as liaison to referral sources and parents regarding progress and needs; to include attendance of Family Assessment and Planning Team (FAPT) meetings and court hearings as necessary.
  • Participate in initial and ongoing staff training and/or seminar presentations as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
