Treatment Foster Care Admissions Assistant

Full-Time/Exempt

Summary: Supports referral and admission procedures to include, but not limited to, interviewing, communicating with placing agency and case workers, and transportation of applicants.  Inputs referral information into database.  Provides marketing or training support as needed, including, but not limited to, formulation of pertinent information and tools.

Duties and Responsibilites: 

  • Responsible for establishing positive working relationships with other community agencies that refer and support clients and families served by ITFC.
  • Assist in the referral, interview, and admission process for potential/new clients.
  • Interview clients and families.
  • Assist with arrangement of appropriate services and ensuring the continuity of care for potential/new clients.
  • Directly assist clients to locate or obtain needed services and resources.
  • Teach and assist in the implementation of initial base-lining/ data keeping tasks with Teaching Parents; provide instruments.
  • Document all case documentation and client/family/foster family information in database system on a weekly basis and maintain current data points in relation to admissions.
  • Assist in gathering required documentation for placement and funding of clients.
  • Assist in the scheduling of all initial medical/therapy appointments for incoming clients.
  • Responsible for maintaining on-call schedules.
  • Responsible for the sharing of all on-call duties.
  • Responsible for developing all initial client charts at the start of placement and the filing of any admissions related documents.

Performs any other duty which may be requested but not included herein

Education and Experience: A baccalaureate degree in social work or a field related to social work including, but not limited to sociology, psychology, special education, or counseling and one year of experience in providing casework services to children and families; OR

A baccalaureate or associate degree in any field plus two years' experience in the field of foster care or experience in working with behavioral programs, counseling, and/or skills training is preferred.

Certifications and Licenses: Current driver's license, safe automobile, and current and sufficient auto insurance.
